Let each dish transport you to the heart of The Gambia, where the warmth and diversity of the country's cuisine come to life on your plate.

How it works:

  1. Choose 3 or 6 meals: With 6 meals you get each Item specialty twice.
  2. Choose delivery day: Each home meal is prepared for you freshly and with the best ingredients by our talented local chefs shortly before delivery.
  3. Germany delivery: Immediately after cooking, the meals are cooled down to refrigerator temperature and are checked in the HomeMeal quality center. After that, it goes super fast to your region of Germany overnight in a stable cold chain in cooperation with DHL Express. You will usually receive the home meals no later than noon on the day of delivery.
  4. Ready to heat: After arrival, the home meals stay fresh for 3 days in the refrigerator and 14 days in the freezer. Simply heat the healthy food in the pan or microwave for 5 minutes and the journey around the world can begin!

A bit underwhelming

Rice part of Jollof Rice was amazing, rest was mediocre. Preparation instructions are wrong: 3 minutes in microwave on medium power all the dishes were still cold and no amount of stirring would help. 6 minutes on 600W were fine.

It was our first time to try Gambian food, and we liked all of the dishes. In particular, our favorites were the Jollof rice and peanut sauce. We learned that peanuts are a major product grown in Gambia. We added some chicken to each of the dishes (hope you don’t mind!) which really completed each meal for us. With the addition of the chicken, each serving became enough for two people or two meals. So it became a lot of food!! We ended up having to freeze a few servings as we had gotten the 6-pack box. After trying this delicious food, we hope to visit Gambia one day. Thank you for sharing your culture.

Small portion but tastes great.

The rice was delicious. Loved the complementary side dish with potatoes. The gravy was perfect for the rice. But it would be better if the rice portion is increased a little bit.
